You will engage in the practice of Yin Yoga and mindfulness meditation mixed with intuitive, energetic healing to help relieve stress and alleviate tension, while targeting deep fascia and promoting and simulating blood and oxygen flow throughout the body.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of energetic healing and self-improvement that anyone can use. A long term practice of whole body Reiki will restore the general condition of the body by opening the energy channels (meridians) and allowing the body to deal properly and naturally with stress, built up toxins and cope with emotions related to anxiety and depression.

This beautiful practice, accompanied by the soft glow of candles and gentle, current soothing music is the definitive evening early summer practice for the mind, body and spirit, as we begin the first weeks of the transition into the summer solstice, helping to bring us into balance for the new season!

We’ve combined three favorite healing modalities-Restorative Yoga, Reflexology and Reiki to bring you the calm and peace you crave.

Restorative Yoga is a wonderful way to create relaxation and relieve stress in the body and mind. While the body is completely supported with blankets and bolsters, the body is able to relax and open, releasing tension and stored-up toxins that can cause illness. Restorative poses offer benefits to both the body and mind, for conditions ranging from insomnia to asthma to chronic pain to migraines to depression. No yoga experience necessary.

A gentle, non-invasive healing modality focused on the feet, Reflexology assists the body by relaxing the nervous system, thus allowing the body to enter a relaxed state where recovery, repair & maintenance occur. The relaxed state allows for the optimum function of the human body. Reflexology creates a very calm, soothing feeling as well as (but not limited too): reduced pain, reduced inflammation, improved sleep, improved digestion/elimination, improved circulation, improved lymphatic flow (toxin removal)and improved immune function (get sick less!) Reflexology can be used as both a preventative & restorative health practice. The overall goal is to place the body in the space of optimum function, allowing self-repair. It is an excellent method of stress management.

Reiki (ray-kee) is a gentle, yet powerful, form of energy medicine and a very effective method of natural healing. As an alternative healing method, Reiki energy is often used as a complement to traditional medicine. Yantra Yoga YTT Tibetan Yoga of Movement with Penny McQueen

Yantra Yoga is one of the oldest recorded systems of yoga in the world. It has come to us by way of Tibet, a land that holds a vast, rich Buddhist knowledge and heritage. Yantra Yoga’s unique series of positions and movements, combined with conscious breathing, can help coordinate and harmonize one’s personal energy so that the mind can relax and find its authentic balance. Many positions used in Yantra Yoga are similar to those of Hatha Yoga, but the way to assume and apply them differs significantly. Yantra Yoga uses a sequence that consists of seven phases of movement, connected with seven phases of breathing. In particular, the position in the central phase of each movement helps create specific retentions of the breath that work at a deep, subtle level. For this reason it is not only the main position, but this holding and the entire movement that are important.

The system of Yantra Yoga contains a wide range of movements that can be applied by everyone. It is a superb method for attaining optimal health, relaxation, and balance through the coordination of breath and movement. This fundamental and rich method is connected with the profound essence of the Dzogchen Teachings, although a Yantra Yoga practitioner does not necessarily need to follow a particular spiritual path, therefore anyone can practice it without limitation. It has been offered for the help of finding the true natural state.

200 Hour Vinyasa Teacher Training with Penny McQueen

This Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training is a limited space training to ensure you get the most out of this program. This is a comprehensive Yoga Instructor training program, of 200 hours. At the end of the course you will be a Certified Yoga Instructor, eligible to register with Yoga Alliance and you will be qualified to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga worldwide.
All the modules taught meet and exceed yoga alliance requirements.

It is an intense experience that helps to develop a firm foundation of inner discipline. The eligibility for this course is a sincere desire to learn and discipline to attend all the classes. Previous experience in ashtanga or hatha yoga is preferred but not a must.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series

Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series (also known as the First Series or Yoga Chikitsa), literally means yoga therapy. This when practiced regularly heals all sickness and purifies your body in preparation for deeper Yogic practice – both physical as well as meditative.

Course Expectations:
After successful completion students will be able to teach the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga for beginners as well as experienced.
Learn adjustments and alignments techniques.
Learn back bending and hip opening asanas.
Learn more about Pranayamas, Patanjali Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, vedas, upanishads and Yoga Anatomy.
Learn the Art of teaching (soft skills training).
Learn about Kundalini Yoga.

The theme of the teacher training is Ashtanga Vinyasa flow. The course is a fusion between the set sequence of the Ashtanga Primary Series as derived from the ancient text Yoga Korunta and the creative flows and sequences of ‘breath synchronized movement’ found in the Vinyasa Flow style of asana practice. Students will be taught the Ashtanga Primary series in order to develop a solid foundation of asana and alignment practice on which to draw from in developing and sequencing a Vinyasa Flow class, where various other asana will also be incorporated. In these styles, asana are practiced in a sequence in a dynamic and flowing style using breath, drishti (gaze) and bandhas (energy locks). By the end of the course students will be able to teach Ashtanga primary series and also create their own Vinyasa Flow sequences.

The course leads you through the proper techniques for practicing various yoga postures and Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga sequences including key alignments, modifications, contraindications and use of basic yoga props as well as hands-on adjustment techniques, teaching methodology and teaching practice.

Principles of sequencing will be taught so that students can create a vinyasa flow sequence according to the need of their students or the class.
Ashtanga Yoga :
• Introductions and history
• The elements of Ashtanga yoga: Vinyasa (breath-synchronised motion), Ujjayi Pranayama (victorious breathing), bandhas (inner locks), dristis (gaze points)
• Primary series: Sun salutations, standing series, seated series, finishing sequence
• Jump backs and jump throughs, float through
• Drop backs- dropping-back and coming-up from Urdvha Dhanurasana. These vinyasas are the gatekeepers to Ashtanga’s Intermediate Series, and can sometimes take a long time to work through. Learn the proper actions and alignment that will keep you safe while developing your backbends. We start by doing assisted drop-backs, or for those that want a refresher on their technique.

Backbends- Backbends are a wonderful way to strengthen the back and balance the body after the many forward bends of the Primary Series. Learn proper alignment and technique to safely approach back bending. We will explore a rich collection of backbends from the Primary and Second series designed to open the front of the body and realign the spine.

Practice techniques
• Practice techniques for 80 postures of Ashtanga primary series and a few more advance postures including arm balances and how to teach them
• Modifications, other variations and advance variation of all postures
• How to use yoga props like block, bolster, strap, blanket, wall in your yoga practice
• Observation and feedback on your personal practice and teaching
• Themed teaching on topics such as hip opening, headstand and inversions, back bending, arm balances are conducted to help you understand and practice these safely and effectively
• Hands-on-adjustments are given to students to deepen your physical practice

Teaching practice:
• Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching, hearing and giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone else is teaching.
• You will start to teach from day one.
• You teach one on one on from the day one and then larger groups
• You will also teach many full classes during the course
• Regular feedback are given by teachers and fellow students about your teaching so that you can improve and find your unique voice and style as a teacher
• You will learn to give hands on adjustment
